Privacy Policy
How Muse AI processes information needed to provide the application.
Automatic profile
Muse creates a random token on your PC and sends only its SHA-256 hash to the Muse service. The hash maps to a numbered profile such as Muse #1234567. Muse does not use a hardware serial number, advertising identifier, or Windows account email for this profile.
Microsoft Store
In the packaged Windows application, Muse asks Microsoft Store for a short-lived Store ID key representing the Store account active on the PC. The key is sent to the backend to verify application ownership and subscriptions. Muse does not receive or store the Microsoft Store email or password, and the Store ID key is not stored in the Muse database.
Information we process
- The numbered profile, hashed device token, subscription status, and monthly usage counters.
- Prompts, recent conversation context, files, voice recordings, and image requests you choose to submit for AI processing.
- Technical and security events needed to operate and protect the service.
- Support messages you choose to send.
Local storage
Chats, projects, interface settings, and the opaque device token are stored locally on the PC. Resetting the profile removes the local token and requests deletion of its server profile.
Service providers
Muse may use Cloudflare for hosting and database services, Meta model services for AI inference, and Microsoft Store services for ownership, purchases, and entitlements. Information may be processed in countries where these providers operate, under their respective privacy terms.
Retention and choices
Local content remains until you clear it, reset the profile, uninstall the application, or browser storage is removed. Server profile and usage records are retained only as needed for service operation, security, billing, and legal obligations. You can reset the profile from Settings.
